William Ray “Bill” Massey, 80
William Ray “Bill” Massey, 80 of Fleming Island, FL passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022. Mr. Massey was born in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee to the late Hubert and Estelle Hudson Massey. Bill grew up near Norton, Ohio and was a veteran of the USAF. Following his service, he worked for American Airlines as a mechanic retiring in 1997 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Not one to stay idle, Bill worked briefly with Hampton Inn and Woodland Terrace Retirement before moving to Fleming Island one year ago. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Mr. Massey was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry and Barry Massey and a brother-in-law, Chuck Pike. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ruth Massey, sons, Mike (Oliver) Massey and Terry (Rebecca) Robert, brother, Rick (Susie) Massey, sister, Sue Pike, and granddaughter, Macie.
In keeping with Bill’s request, there are no formal services scheduled.
Because of Bill’s love for dogs, in lieu of flowers you may send a donation to an animal shelter of your choice in his name.
