Vernell Mead Brown, 93

Vernell Mead Brown, 93 of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023. Vernell was born in Memphis, Tennessee to parents Robert and Thelma Mead. Vernell moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan where she met her husband of over 60 years James Brown. Together the couple lived and raised their five children in Michigan. Vernell took a job as a housekeeping supervisor for Sheraton Hotel and Beverly Enterprises Nursing facility. The family eventually moved to Tennessee, where Vernell worked for H.I.S. as a seamstress for the next 10 plus years. After retiring she enjoyed traveling and continued to sew, which was a huge passion of hers, but her biggest passion was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her family immensely and would travel between multiple states to see them all.

Vernell was preceded in death by her husband, James Brown; grandchildren, John Warner III and Justin Warner; great grandchildren, Joshua Baker and Kain Trumble; and sister, Bobbie Lea Batey.

She is survived by her sons, James Edward Brown, Jr.(Perna), and Timothy Eugene Brown (Anne); daughters, Sandra Sue Chatman (Terrence), Robin Ann Warner (John) and Tammy Janine Jones (Christopher); sister, Linda Lou Ehrhart; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Graveside service to be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Hebron Methodist Church Cemetery at 415 Hebron Church Rd in Bruceton, TN.
