Tod J. Ward, 61

Tod “TJ” Joseph Ward, father, talented musician, and proud veteran, passed away suddenly on November 27, 2024 at the age of 61. Tod was born on April 26, 1963, to Dr. Ronald Burton Ward and Suzanne McGlothlin Ward in Ohio. A disabled veteran, Tod served his country with honor as a member of the United States Navy. He studied Aviation Business Administration at Southern Illinois University and graduated summa cum laude. Tod loved adventure and obtained his private pilot’s license, was an avid scuba diver and jumped out of too many perfectly good airplanes to count. After his service to the country, Tod worked as a financial planner and found joy in music. A gifted guitarist, drummer and songwriter, he shared his talent freely. Music was his passion, his refuge and his gift to the world.

Above all, Tod loved his three children, Amy Jo Ward, Cameron Joseph Ward, and Zackary Walker Ward. Tod is survived by his children, his mother, Suzanne McGlothlin Ward, his sister, Christina Dunagan, his niece, Cadyn Dunagan, his nephew, Carson Dunagan, and his friend for life, Eric “Ozzy” Osgood. Tod’s spirit lives on in his children who are the best of him and his greatest joy. He will forever be in the hearts of those who loved him and will be missed.

Tod will be laid to rest at the Jacksonville National Cemetery (4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218) on December 6, 2024, at 9:30AM.
