Thomas Jefferson Haydon, Jr., 74

Thomas Jefferson Haydon, Jr., 74, of Orange Park, FL passed away Friday, February 9, 2024.  Tom, a lifelong resident of Florida, was born in Clearwater to the late Thomas Jefferson Haydon, Sr. and Velma Myers Haydon.  A highly intelligent man, Tom graduated from Stetson University and then pursued his Juris Doctor from Florida State University while also becoming a Certified Public Accountant.  Tom proudly served his country as a United States Navy corpsman attached to a United States Marine detachment.  He spent time in Vietnam, Japan, and the Pacific on a hospital ship.  His slow, dry wit was enjoyed by his family and friends.  Tom enjoyed walking, whether it was while running errands around town or just for exercise.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Velma Haydon; brother-in-law, Alan Bridges; and nephew, Jason Bridges.  He is survived by his sister, Karen Bridges; brother, Dale Haydon; nephew, Shane Haydon (Dominique); niece, Jennifer Gallanger (Kristopher); as well as six great-nieces and nephews, Virginia Grotton (Mike), Haydon Bridges, Benjamin Bridges, Katelyn Gallanger, Nora Haydon and Rowan Haydon.

Inurnment at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors will be Friday, June 14, 2024 at 10am.
