Sunny Ray Evans, 69, of Middleburg, FL, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024. Sunny was born in Tifton, Georgia to parents Lewis and Annie Evans. For the past fifty years or more he has lived in the Jacksonville, Florida area, where he worked and raised his children. He retired from Jacksonville Sheriffs’ Office, and owned/ran his own business, Evans Tractor Work, for over 30 years. Sunny enjoyed mechanical work, tinkering, gardening, and working with his hands. He was a hard worker, but his biggest passion in life was his family. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love through all of them.

Sunny was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Annie Sellers Evans. He is survived by his son, Ryan Evans; daughters, Shannon Evans, Stacy White, Melissa Peterson (Joshua), Megan Evans and Morgan Dedmon (Brad); brothers, Donald Evans (Fabiola)and Jack Evans (Terri); sisters, Barbara Rowan, and Lisa Colon; Eleven (11) grandchildren, with one on the way and three (3) great-grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at First Baptist Middleburg (2645 Blanding Blvd. Middleburg, FL 32068). A time of visitation with the family will begin one hour prior to the service at 10:00AM.
