Sherry Frances Hershberger, 71

Sherry Frances Hershberger, 71, of Middleburg, FL entered into everlasting peace on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 after a fierce battle with cancer.  She was born in Watertown, NY to the late Stanley Aloan, Sr. and Freda Fay (Freeman) Eveleigh.  She spent most of her life in upstate New York before moving to the area 33 years ago from Buffalo, NY.  Sherry started her banking career of over 25 years at Barnett Bank and retired from Bank of America.  Sherry was a devoted grandmother “Mimi” to her grandsons, cheering them on at various sports games, taking them on family vacations, and even jet skiing on Doctor’s Inlet year-round.

Sherry was an avid antique hunter and collector. Over the years, her collection of Americana and folk art grew to rival that of any museum.  But Sherry’s most favorite way to spend time was out on the boat with her husband, Bill. She loved to be on the water, enjoying the outdoors and relaxing while Bill fished or just enjoying a peaceful sunset cruise.  Sherry’s legacy is a testament of how much she cared for loved ones and friends. She was deeply spiritual, a keen listener and always knew what was going on. She was quick to help people and bring them together. She will be missed by too many to count.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Aloan, Sr. and Freda Fay (Freeman) Eveleigh; and two sisters, Nancy Pines and Denise Hueston.  She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, William “Bill” Hershberger; two daughters, Renee Denson (Troy) and Jennifer McEnany; three sisters, Gail Aloan-Lajoie, Shelley Aloan, and Sheila Donato; one brother, Stanley Aloan, Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Young (Kenny) and Ronelle Stone (Dev); two grandsons, Luke Bryan and Finn McEnany; as well as many other friends and family members.

A memorial service will be held Monday, February 13, 2023 at 11:00am in the chapel of Russell Haven of Rest.

Arrangements are under the care of Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2335 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs, FL  32043.  Family and friends may share their condolences at: www.RHRFH.com 904-284-7720
