Sherrill Oswald Wilson, 81

Sherrill Oswald Wilson passed away peacefully at the age of 81 at Haven Hospice. We bid farewell to Sherrill Oswald Wilson, a loving husband and father of five. He was a pillar of strength and integrity who was devoted to his family. In his absence a void was created which we will never be able to fill.  

Sherrill Wilson led by example and had a vast knowledge of God’s Holy word.  His desire to teach his children and those around him of God cannot be comprehensively stated.  He was a multi-faceted man who touched the lives of those around him.  The only comfort we have is the knowledge that he is with our Lord and God waiting on his final resting place in Heaven.

He is survived by his forever love and wife of 62 years, Scarlett; his five children, Robin Wilson, Lurleen Lay, Ray Wilson, Belinda Williams and Kimberly Henninger; his six grandchildren, Brooke, Carlye, Garrett, Austin, Johnny and Katie and four great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his two sisters, Charlotte Barefield and Linda Strickland, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.  Sherrill was preceded in death by his parents, Oswald David and Mae Wilson and his brother, Joe Wilson.

We welcome all who knew him to join us at Green Cove Springs Church of Christ (3650 Russell Rd., Green Cove Springs, FL 32043) at 11am on Monday, June 24, 2024 to celebrate this man of God; a loving and wonderful man who will be deeply missed.  Visitation with the family will begin at 10am.  Burial will follow at Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.
