SCPO William Green “Bill” Taylor, USN (Ret.), 84

SCPO William Green “Bill” Taylor, USN (Ret.), 84 of Middleburg, FL passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020.  Bill was born in Sweetwater, Texas to the late Haley and Alma Lee Taylor.  He grew up in Sweetwater and Abilene and entered the US Navy in 1952 where he served a total of 28 years.  Mr. Taylor moved to Jacksonville in 1967 while stationed at Cecil Field and moved to Middleburg in 1979.  Bill was a member of the Middleburg United Methodist Church and the VFW Post 8255 in Middleburg.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and a man who when he said something it was the truth.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his daughter, Leigh Ann Taylor and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Faye Taylor, sons, Hank (Sarita) Taylor and Greg (Jessica) Taylor, brother, Joe Taylor, three grandchildren, Blaine, Cole and Haley and one great grandson, Joshua Henry.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 8, 2020 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest with burial to follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery and honors by US Navy.  Pastor Brian Sanderson will be officiating.  Visitation with the family will be from 10-11:00 AM prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to:  Middleburg United Methodist Church church website or your favorite charity.
