Sara “Jackie” Barnes, 89

Sara Jacqueline Barnes, 89 passed away on October 28, 2024 in Green Cove Springs, Florida. Born on December 23, 1934, Sara, affectionately known by many as Jackie, was an individual of remarkable artistic talent and humorous spirit that endeared her to all who knew her. Jackie shared a beautiful and devoted life with her late husband, Harold Barnes. Together, they traveled extensively sharing their art at various shows and festivals across the country. After Harold’s passing, Jackie continued her artistic journey with the support of her Angela and her granddaughter Sara. Her career as an artist and painter spanned four decades during which she brought joy and color to the lives of many. A committed member of Lake Asbury Baptist Church, Jackie was deeply involved in her community and cherished the friendships she made there. Her faith and the relationships she fostered through the church were sources of great comfort and strength throughout her life.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Barnes; brother, Dickie; her mother, Elise and all her other family members.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Angela Phillips and Vickie Wilson; her son, James Barnes; grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson, Rebecca Baker, Heather Phillips, Sara Phillips, Devin Bradley, Jonathan Phillips, and Nicolas Cole. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Titus, Bella, Vincent, Jackson, Samson, Sophia, Lily and Langston. Her best friend, Kay Scott, also survives her.
