Salvatore Reitano, 73

Salvatore Reitano, 73, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on Christmas Day, after a long battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of 19 years to Tha (Kim) Reitano. Sal was born in Gaeta, Italy and moved to the United States with his family when he was a teenager. He grew up in Somerville, MA and then raised his 5 boys in Tewksbury, MA. He made his career as a machinist and was enjoying his retirement in Florida the last few years.

In addition to his devoted wife, he was also a loving father to Salvatore Jr. and his wife Renee from Carver, MA; Steven and his wife Candia from Tewksbury, MA; Michael and his wife Mary from Tewksbury, MA; Joseph and his wife Lauren from Tewksbury, MA; Robert from Tewksbury, MA.; and stepfather to William Kim of Green Cove Springs, FL. He was the son of the late Andrea Reitano and Francesca (Pasciuto), brother of Luigi Reitano of Waltham, Patricia Iampietro of PA, and the late Guido Reitano, Nicholas Reitano, Rosaria Uttaro, and Elisa Herald. Predeceased by cherished granddaughter, Athena, and survived by adored grandchildren Raven, Kiley, Mackenzie, Vincent, Christopher, Lucas & Leo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Sal loved music. Whether it was singing karaoke, playing his saxophone, or simply listening. Sal also had a passion for gardening, especially tomatoes. He loved Florida and its beaches. Most of all, he was at his happiest when cooking, eating, and having drinks with his family. Sal fought a courageous battle with cancer but passed away peacefully on Christmas Day. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 3, 2022 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest with Pastor Patrick Martin officiating.   Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 PM until service begins.  Burial wil follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.
