Salvador “Sal” John Aguilar, 47
Salvador “Sal” John Aguilar, 47, of Fleming Island, FL passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021. Sal was born in Turlock, CA to the late Salvador Aguilar, Jr. and Rachel Martinez. He graduated from Turlock High School in 1992 and worked several jobs in the restaurant industry. Sal enjoyed various past times which included playing video games with his brother, watching football, baseball, hockey games and UFC events. He was also a proud and active member of the Republican party and always up for a game of bingo. However, Sal’s main love was to be with his family. Those closest to him knew him as a great son, unbelievable brother, caring uncle, and someone who would leave a lasting impression on the various people he would meet.
After traveling to Jacksonville, Florida area in 2005 to help his sister, Latisha, with her relocation, he decided to stay. He quickly became “part of the pack” with Latisha and her husband, Nic Wolford, who Sal affectionately called “Nicky”. During their many cross-country road trips to visit California family, Sal loved looking at maps and planning their stops as they made their way. Sal had an easygoing nature and was always up for anything. He was known for his big heart, generosity, and capacity for forgiveness.
Sal was preceded in death by his father, Salvador Aguilar, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Rachel Jenkins, stepfather, Herb Jenkins; his “little” brother, Victor Aguilar; three sisters, Heidi Jenkins, Latisha Wolford, and Kristen Porter; two nieces, Charlotte Wolford and Vivian Porter; two nephews, Elijah Cordova and Herbie Porter; as well as many extended family members.
