Ruth Fay Lee, 87 of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022 at her home surrounded by family.  Mrs. Lee moved to Florida in her early teens from Indiana.  After working in the Clay County Tax Collectors Office for 25 years, Ruth was elected into the position of Clay County Tax Collector and served for 12 years before retiring.  She was very active in the community helping with various charities and as a member of the Village Improvement Association.  Ruth enjoyed painting and working on ceramic dolls and was quite the “southern cook”.  Mrs. Lee will be dearly missed by her family and Clay County.

Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert Lee and son, Tony Lee.  She is survived by her daughters, Joan (Jimmy) Weeks and Robyn (Ervin) McCarty, sister, Wanda Long, five grandchildren, Ryan, Chad, Jaime, Kelsey and Maggie and four great grandchildren, Ava, Eden, Ella and John.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 20, 2022 in Russell Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Weeks officiating.  Burial will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, Heritage Section.  Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday prior to services.
