Roy Edward Proctor, 86

Roy Edward Proctor, 86 of Middleburg, FL passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023.  Roy was born in Stockbridge, Michigan to the late Edwin and Elva Proctor and remained in Stockbridge until entering the US Air Force.  After his discharge, Roy attended Memphis State College where her received his Masters Degree in Speech pathology as well as meeting his wife, Gene Vanhoy and marrying in 1964.  They moved to Florida and Roy worked for Speech and Hearing Center of Jacksonville for 20 years, and after retiring, worked in landscaping and lawn services.

Following the death of Gene in 2003, Roy married Phyllis Popovich in 2007, moved to Alabama and remained there until her death in 2021.  He had been back in Florida for only a couple years until his own death.  Roy will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Proctor is survived by his sons, Laroy Proctor and Maurice Proctor, 4 grandchildren, Kurstin, Jessica, Melissa and Mitchell, 5 great grandchildren and extended family in Alabama.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 21, 2023 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest with Pastor Adrian Ngo officiating.  A time of visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until services on Friday.
