Roy Earl Haynes, 73

Roy Earl Haynes, 73 of Middleburg, FL passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Haynes was born in Hazard, Kentucky and moved to Middleburg 34 years ago from Illinois.  Since living in Middleburg, Roy managed the Shell Station in Middleburg and was known as “Doc Haynes” to the locals.  He also worked for VACON for nine years.  Roy was a fair person who was eager to help others when their cars needed to be repaired; he also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren who called him “Papa”.

Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by his daughter, Bobbie Jo Haynes and is survived by his wife, Jennifer Haynes, children, Chris (Christin) Haynes, Catherine (Jason) MacCartney and Carrie Olsen, five sisters, Yvonne Boyd, Tressie Warr, Lola King, Sheila Cunningham and Nannie Eyee , and six grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2016 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest. Visitation with the family will be from 2-3:00 PM prior to services.
