Robert James (Jim) Nash, 77

Robert James (Jim) Nash passed away on October 13, 2023, at the age of 77. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on May 20, 1946, to the late Robert Heard Nash and Edith Fairley Nash. He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Kent Nash, and sister, Amy Nash Griffin. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Ann Standley Nash, and brother-in-law Will Standley (Susan), brother-in-law Steven Standley (Vicky), and numerous nephews and nieces.

Jim graduated from Cross Keys High School and Oglethorpe University, both in Atlanta, Georgia. After college, he was drafted into the United States Army. His professional career spanned over 40 years where he taught securities curriculum to individuals preparing to acquire a federal license to sell all forms of investment products. He parlayed his teaching into ownership of his own school and was highly regarded within the industry.

Jim loved people; always had a joke; loved sports, music, and cooking; was an avid reader; and enjoyed a great golf group for years. He also loved the Georgia Bull Dawgs – they were his football team for sure! He and Ann loved to travel and were fortunate to experience many places in the world together. He also cherished evenings together with Ann – winding down at one of their favorite restaurants at least three to four times a week was always a special time for them.

Everyone knew Jim and Ann could always tell you the best places to experience a great meal. One of his greatest loves ever was First Redeemer Church in Cumming, Georgia, where he sang in a 135- person choir each week, which was truly a highlight in his life. He also taught Sunday School there, where he had the opportunity to share the message of Jesus Christ his savior.

There will be a celebration of life service at First Redeemer Church in Cumming, the date and time to be announced.

Arrangements are under the care of Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2335 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs, FL  32043.  Family and friends may share their condolences at: www.RHRFH.com 904-284-7720
