Robert E. “Bob” Barnes, 94

Robert E. “Bob” Barnes, 94 of Fleming Island, FL passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022.  Mr. Barnes was born in Mount Carmel, PA to the late William J. and Marie Barnes and lived in the Northumberland County area before joining the US Navy at the age of 17.  He was a WW II veteran serving in the US Navy, US Army, and National Guard for a total of 15 years.  He worked as an accountant for Anaconda Corporation in Connecticut before retiring from IBM after 20 years.  Bob was a Florida Master Gardener and a radio guest on gardening, loved football and spoke seven languages.  He attended St. Luke Catholic Church.

Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his 12 siblings and is survived by his wife of 70 years, Heidi Barnes, son, Donald Barnes, daughter, Patricia (Daniel) Luox, was “Opa” to six grandchildren, Jesse, Matthew, Heideliese, Aletta, Franklin, and Angelica and two great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 3, 2022 in Magnolia Cemetery of Orange Park, FL with Reverend Jaisemon Xaviour officiating.
