Richard Nicholas “Nickie” Speights, 55

Richard Nicholas “Nickie” Speights, 55, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away August 12, 2020.  Nickie was born in Pensacola, Florida to George Speights and the late Dorothy Jean Speights.  He moved to Clay County in 1970 from California.  He worked as a carpenter and did wood and tile flooring.  Nickie enjoyed his RC cars, was an avid fisherman and loved his hats.  He also enjoyed building things and could fix anything.  Nickie’s favorite music was Southern Rock, especially Bob Seger which was the first concert he attended.

Mr. Speights was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Jean Speights; and his niece, Dana Speights.  He is survived by his wife, Teresa Speights; one son, Keary Speights; his father, George Speights; one brother, Donald Speights (Terry); one niece, Heather Lynn (David); and eight great-nieces and nephews, Kiera, Kylee, Kaitlyn, Dana, Konnor, Addie, Brayson, Landen, and Miranda.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 15, 2020 in the chapel at Russell Haven of Rest.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at 10:00am.
