Richard Joseph Raposa, 78
Richard Joseph Raposa 78, passed away on May 30, 2024 in Middleburg, Florida. He was born on June 24, 1945 to his parents Anna Tarantino and Anthony Raposa Sr. in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the third child of two older brothers who both are deceased Anthony Raposa Jr. and Robert Raposa. Richard grew up in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts until he moved to East Boston where he met his long-time wife in Junior High School. Richard and his wife Maria started dating in their Senior year of High School and got married two years later, on September 4, 1966.
Richard graduated with a diploma from Brighton High School with a certificate in auto mechanics and had worked for Ford Motor Company, where he worked for 8 years. He worked in many other positions throughout the years, some of which included the Constable for the city of Boston for 2 years as well as, a Security Officers for Edwards Air Force Base in Lancaster, California for about 3 years, Head of Security at Target for 6 years. In his later years Richard’s true passion for work was when he and Maria worked at an Active Retirement for Senior Living as Managers for 15 years until their own retirement, where they both resided in Middleburg, Florida. He and his wife loved playing Bingo at the Weigel Senior Center and loved being with their friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Anthony Raposa; and brothers, Anthony Raposa Jr. and Robert Raposa.
He is survived by his adoring wife Maria E. Raposa of almost 58 loving years, and their two daughters, Stacey A. Gay, her husband Bill Gay; and daughter, Vickie Raposa; grandchildren, Nicole M. Gay, Ryan P. Petrelis and Stephanie M. Petrelis; His last surviving brother David M. Raposa, and 9 Nieces and Nephew, 10 Great Nieces and Nephews, and 9 Great, Great Nieces and Nephews.
His love for life was always top notch and lived life to the fullest with lots of laughter, love, kindness and passion. He will truly be missed as a Husband, Father, Father-in-law, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Great Uncle, Great Great Uncle, and Friend.
