Ramona Jean Ellis, 74
Ramona Jean Ellis was an independent woman for the times. She came from modest means and was very frugal. She despised buying clothes and shopping generally. Very much unlike any other woman I have ever known. She was very family-oriented and sacrificed whatever it took for her children. She was extremely wise and well read. She was well known to be a loyal and lasting friend and she loved doing the extraordinary for ordinary people. She has paid for others food at the supermarket, paid for meals for police officers and firefighters. She was generous with her love and shared it to anyone that she believed needed it. She was honest in all things and especially in pointing out your shortcomings in regard to friends, family and always maintained the high ground in any argument. You could not out-argue Jean. She was gifted in helping others to realize the driving reasons for their emotional problems. She was a savior to others. Always willing to listen and to advise. She was a natural born mother who persuaded through true heart-felt love and affection. You always knew where you stood with her. She was gentle, loving, caring, and shared that with all that would accept it. Her life was a good life and she had no regrets for anything she had ever said or done. She was amazing, confident, smart and driven to be as alive as she could be for as long as it lasted. She was not just loved, she was adored. She was a talented seamstress and won several blue ribbons for her handmade quilts. She loved parrots and birds of any kind. She ran a parrot rescue here and in Memphis Tennessee for the last 20 years. All the words in the dictionary cannot describe how very special she was. She was adored by many. She will be missed beyond measure. Being loved by Jean was the greatest of gifts.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Lance and Lorene Roby; and brothers, David Fieldor, Wayne Roby, Ralph Roby, and Larry Roby. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Randy Ellis; son, David Bay; daughters, Vicki Lamberth, Kim Crawmer (Steve); brothers, Robert Alford, Billy Roby; 9 grandchildren and 7 greatgrandchildren.
