Patricia Gail “Patty” Palmer, 68, of Middleburg, FL passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021.  Patty was born in Bayard, FL to the late Gerald Conner and Louise Thrift Conner and lived in North Florida her whole life.  She graduated from Englewood High School in 1971 and attended St. Johns River Community College.  Patty was employed by the Clay County School Board as a teacher’s aide.  Her twenty year career took her to many of the elementary schools in the county, including Tynes, Paterson, Fleming Island and Doctors Inlet.  She was a member at Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene and then First Baptist of Jacksonville.  She was a big Elvis Presley fan.  Most of all, Patty was a devoted wife, mother and Granny.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Louise Conner; her daughter, Regina Palmer Johns; great grandson, Rylan Wise; and brother-in-law, Wendell Palmer.  She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dalton “Rickie” Palmer; one son, Scott Palmer; son-in-law, Dale Johns; one brother, Gerald Lee Conner (Erin); two sisters, Jane McIntosh and Sue Gribble; sister-in-law, Carol Collins; two brothers-in-law, Elliott Palmer (Candace) and Morris Palmer; three grandchildren, Chelsea Cook (Steven), Maddie Wise, and Trey Starling; seven great grandchildren, Cheyanne Cook, Haddie Cook, Steven Cook, Jr., Millie Cook, Aaralyn Wise, Evelynn Wise, and Waylon Wise; as well as many other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11:00am in the chapel at Russell Haven of Rest with JR Deetz officiating.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior at 10:00am.  A private family burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Patty’s memory to a charity of your choice.
