Noah Spears Hinton, Jr., 82

Noah Spears Hinton, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on July 29, 2023. He went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 82 years old in Orange Park, Florida. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Bonnie Hinton, his daughters Krista Hinton and Karla Smith, his son-in-law Jeremy Smith, his grandson, Michael Smith, his sister Cecilia Tucker, his niece Lora Kaasch, and his cousin William Hinton.

Noah was a proud born and bred Kentuckian. He was born in Paris, KY, but grew up in Ashland, KY. However, after he and Bonnie married, they settled in Mount Vernon, Ohio. They remained there for several years until they decided to go to a warmer climate. They made Orange Park, Florida their home for the past 41 years.

Noah was a graduate of the University of Pikeville and earned a master degree from Xavier University. He was a secondary education teacher prior to joining the Greyhound Corporation in 1968. While there he was a dispatcher, driver, and training instructor for approximately 40 years. After retirement, he drove the activity bus for Episcopal School of Jacksonville for 10 years.

His hobbies included collecting Greyhound memorabilia, NASCAR races, Goldwing riding, Kentucky basketball, and Southern Gospel music.

A memorial service will be held on August 7, 2023 at 11am, with visitation from 10a to 11a. at First Baptist Church of Orange Park. (1140 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073)
