Nelli “Fay” Ewing, 80

Nelli Fay Ewing, 80 of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Friday June 23, 2023. She was born in Waycross, Georgia to parents James T. Smith and Cora Davis Smith. Fay lived in Waycross until 1962 when she moved to north Florida. She enjoyed many years of employment with Bank of America as an Operations Manager, before retiring she worked at the Green Cove Springs location. Fay was an accomplished piano player and had a natural talent. She loved to play gospel music and country. While music was one of her biggest passions, she also loved to get lost in a good book, go fishing and hang out at the house playing cards. Fay was a compassionate person with a heart for helping others, she will be greatly missed. 

Fay was preceded in death by her parents James and Cora Smith; brother James “Buddy” Elbert Smith; and sister, Sue Carol Smith.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Robert Ewing; sons, James DeWayne Adams and David Tyrone Adams; daughter, Rhonda Jean Adams Arnold; step-daughter, Julie Roseann Mason; grandchildren, James David Adams, Michael Otis Arnold; and step-grandchildren Jacob Courson and Tiffany Rose Courson. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, June 27, 2023, in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest Funeral Home. A viewing and time of visitation will be held on Monday evening, June 26, 2023 from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Burial will follow services at Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.
