Marion Elizabeth King, 97 of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 just a month before her 98th birthday.  Mrs. King was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late George and Ruth Lee and moved to Jacksonville in 1958.  Prior to living in Jacksonville, she was raised in Estill, South Carolina and later Brunswick, Georgia.  Early in her career, Mrs. King work as a seamstress for various factories and was an employee for Publix (Palatka) in the deli before retiring.  She was a member of the Connect Church (Church of God of Prophecy) in Palatka, Florida.

Pinching a penny was a trait that Mrs. King mastered well.  She enjoyed a good garage sale and shopping for a deal at Walmart, but was even happy just walking in a store and not buying a thing.  Prior to her husband’s death, the late Earl King, she would travel in their camper throughout the United States as well as going fishing.

Mrs. King is survived by her daughters, Earline (Wayne) Morris, Joyce (Gene) Duncan and Peggie (Ted) Wattron, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren and 3 expected great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest Funeral Home with burial in Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville, FL.  A time of visitation will begin prior to services at 10:00 AM.
