(Ret.) Major Thomas Jordan Bright, USAF, 71

(Ret.) Major Thomas Jordan Bright, USAF, 71 of Fleming Island, FL passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018.  Tom was born in Manchester, N.H. on May 3rd, 1947 to the late Harry and Elizabeth Bright. He graduated from Manchester Central High School, received his B.S. from Univ. of New Hampshire, and Master’s degree from Webster College.  He served in the USAF from 1970 to 1990 as a Navigator, primarily flying C-141’s.  A proud veteran, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Meritorious Service Medal, and Vietnam Gallantry Cross to name a few. Tom and Jan enjoyed living in Charleston, S.C. for the last 37 years until moving to Fleming Island last year.

Major Bright was preceded in death by his brother, John Bright, and is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jan Bright, sons, Jordan (Shannon) Bright and Charles (Monica) Bright, sister, Jane Bright, and four beautiful granddaughters, Molly, Kelsey, Lilly and Julia.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 5, 2018 at the graveside in Jacksonville National Cemetery with Military Honors by the USAF.  A visitation time with the family will be on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the funeral home from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
