Major GE Bruce, USMC (Ret.), 82

Major Gale Eugene Bruce, USMC (Ret.) 82 passed away Monday, July 17, 2017.  Mr. Bruce had been a resident of Clay County since 1980.  He served his country in the USMC and retired after 25 years in St. Louis, MO.  Following his retirement, he began working with Mississippi Valley Steel Company and transferred to Jacksonville in 1980 and retiring in 1985.  He was a member of the General Roy S. Geiger Marine Corps League 1047 and Fox Meadow Baptist Church of Lake Asbury.  Gale was a great husband, father, grandfather, and Marine.

Mr. Bruce was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Shirley and is survived by his children, Mike (Lynn) Bruce, Terry (Andrea) Bruce and Jill (Randall) Richardson, 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, July 29, 2017 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest with Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating.  USMC Honors will be performed at the graveside.
