Lyle Wesley Hunt, 75, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Monday, July 8, 2024.  Lyle was born in Dayton, OH to the late Lyle Wellington Hunt and Betty Lou Benton Hunt.  He moved to Florida over 40 years ago after serving his country in the United States Army during Vietnam.  He worked as a sheet metal mechanic over the years and retired from Northrup Grumman after 15 years.

Lyle was an outdoorsman and loved anything to do with water.  He enjoyed fishing, kayaking and boating.  An avid reader, Lyle was a deep thinker, quiet and introverted.  Lyle had a big heart, was very kind and an awesome dad to his sons and Papa to his grandchildren. 

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Betty Lou Hunt; and brother, John Hunt.  He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Pamela Evans Hunt; two sons, John Hunt and Matthew Hunt (Monica); one sister, Sharon Bowerman (Danny); six grandchildren, Ayla Hunt, Maia Hunt, Aiden Hunt, Landen Hunt, Reagen Hunt, and Presten Hunt; one nephew, Christopher Hunt; three nieces, Krista Bryk, Michelle Klock; and Tammy Blouvet; as well as other extended family members. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 9:30am in the chapel at Russell Haven of Rest with Ron Baker officiating.  Burial will follow at 2:00pm in Florida National Cemetery,6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.
