Linda Sharon Gray, 78

Linda Sharon Gray, 78, of St. Augustine, FL passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024.  Linda was a lifelong resident of Florida, graduating from Andrew Jackson High School in 1963.  She continued her education at the University of Florida where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism.  Linda’s career began at WJXT Channel 4 in Jacksonville before heading back to Gainesville to work for the University of Florida.  Linda served in many roles during her 32 years at UF, including university spokesperson, before retiring as the Director of Media Services.  After retirement, Linda served as the Director of Media Services at the University of Central Florida for five years.

Linda moved to St. Augustine 15 years ago as she always dreamed of living at the beach.  She had a bubbly and outgoing personality.  Linda had an authoritative air about her and would command your attention when she entered a room.  She was a doting aunt to her niece, nephew, grandniece, and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Harriett Gray; and her beloved nephew, Det. David Adam White.  She is survived by her sister, Sandy White (David); brother, Langston Gray; beloved and adored niece, Rachel White Wood; niece by love, Jennifer White Lancaster; great-niece, Ashley White; and three great-nephews, Cooper White, Grayson Wood, and Cole Wood.

A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
