Leonard Love Preston Upton, Jr., 58

Leonard Love Preston Upton, Jr., 58, of Orange Park, FL passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020.  He was a native of Jacksonville, FL.  He was a family man who adored his wife, Erika.  Preston had a great sense of humor that matched his dimples.  He was an extraordinary person with a big heart, and he was always willing to help others.  His patience, kindness, compassion, and love will be greatly missed. Preston enjoyed watching UF Gator sports, especially football.  His favorite hobbies were projects around the home and the yard.  He also enjoyed crossword puzzles and words with friends.  He especially loved his dog, Scooby Doo.

Preston was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Upton, Sr. and Irene Upton.  He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Erika and her daughter Courtney Nalepa (Justin); his brothers, Michael Scroggie (Denise) and John  Scroggie (Suzanne); his sisters, Patricia Bradley (Wayne) and Vicki Bock (Curtis);  grandchildren Hayden and Hailey Nalepa who lovingly referred to Preston as “Precious.”; father-in-law, Russell Bauer; mother-in-law, Pamela Derousie (Steve Rumpf); brothers-in-laws, William Derousie (Bethany), Paul Derousie (Jordan), and Doug Derousie (Dana); sister-in-law, Marie Nichols (Andy); many wonderful aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and his beloved dog, Scooby Doo.
