LaVerna Eileen Free, 85

LaVerna Eileen Free, 85 of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023. She was born in Ft. Worth, Texas to the late William and Gladys McDaniel. She later moved to Corpus Christi, TX with her family, where she graduated from W.B. Ray High School. Eileen worked as a secretary in the music department at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi for 25 years before her retirement. Travel was a favorite thing for Eileen to enjoy with her husband, E.W. They traveled all over the United States as well as Japan, Europe and even cruises. Eileen loved sewing and made many clothing items over the years for her own children as well as many others. She moved to Clay County in 2017 with her husband to be closer to her daughter, Teresa. Eileen was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Middleburg.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, E.W. Free; son, Russell Free (Ana); daughter, Teresa LeBlanc (Troy); sister, Delores Polok; three grandsons, Chad LeBlanc (Victoria), Wesley LeBlanc (Gabriella), and Cameron LeBlanc (Jordan); two great-grandsons, Elijah LeBlanc and Isaiah LeBlanc.
