KRISTY EVA SWANSON FRETHAM

Our beautiful Kristy Eva Swanson Fretham passed away on Thursday, July 5th, surrounded by her loved ones at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL. Born on March 11, 1969 to Donald and Marcelyn Swanson in Camp LeJeune, NC, she was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, Mimi, aunt and faithful friend to all who knew her.

Kristy grew up in Albany, GA where she attended public schools, played little league baseball, and cheered at Dougherty Jr. High School. She was confirmed at Our Saviour Lutheran Church.

Kristy met and married the love of her life, Andrew Fretham, in Owatonna, MN. They enjoyed 22 exciting years together. She was blessed with three wonderful sons, John, Jacob, and Jayson.

Prior to moving to FL in 2003, she enjoyed boating on Lake Minnetonka, annual family vacations in Panama City Beach, FL, painting and DIY projects.

Before her illness, Kristy had a very successful cleaning business where she developed and used her own line of all-natural cleaning products.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Glenn Cosper and Lawrence Swanson; her grandmother, Eva Swanson; and the best father ever, Donald Swanson.

She leaves to treasure her life, husband, Andy, sons, John (Courtney), Jake (Allison), and Jayson (Hope); and her precious grandson, John-Jon.

Her spirit is carried on by her mother, Marcelyn Swanson; grandmother, Ferol Cosper; siblings, Debi Groenendyk (Russell), Lynn Meares (Wayne), Richard Swanson and Jeff Swanson; mother in-law, Sandy Schuette (Bob); sister in-law, Jennie Johnson (Jeff); many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and an uncle.

Kristy’s family would like to thank the many friends who prayed for and supported her during this difficult journey. We would also like to thank Dr. Mathew Thomas and his amazing cardiothoracic team as well as the caring staff of professionals at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL, who took such great care of Kristy. A memorial service will be held 11am Monday, July 9, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church located at 1415 McDuff Ave S, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
