Julia Louise DeRay, 99
Julia Louise DeRay, 99 of Middleburg, FL passed away just days before her 100th birthday on September 23, 2021. Julia was born in 1921 to the late Daniel Webster and Florence Louise Methvin in Americus, GA and spent almost all her life in Florida mainly in the central Florida area as her father was a potato farmer. She was raised in an era that required talents such as sewing and living off the land. Mrs. DeRay had a green thumb of her own with her gardening, working cross stitch and always having a dog around to complete the family. She will be dearly missed.
Mrs. DeRay was preceded in death by her husband in 1996, Marion Wilford DeRay and son, Jimmy DeRay in 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Marian Thompson, son, Derrell DeRay, brother, James Methvin, sister, Lorene Ballard, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Services will be held at a later date.
