John William “Jack” Almeida, 74

John William “Jack” Almeida, Sr. 74 of Orange Park, FL passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018.  Jack was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on March 29, 1944 and moved to Orange Park over 50 years ago.  He was a veteran of the USMC serving during the Vietnam War, retired after 30 years with BellSouth and retired after 30 years from the CCSO and CCSO Reserve.  “Papa” as he was called by family, was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club Florida Chapter VIII, enjoyed camping and making the annual snow trips each January.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Almeida is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sandy Almeida, children, John William Almeida, Jr., Michele (Randy) Almeida Qualls, Kelly (John) Hawkins, Karen (Steve) Hiers, and Josh (Amanda) Compton, two sisters, Sharon Trepanier and Donna Thibadeau, eleven grandchildren and one great grandson.

Funeral Services will be held 6:00 PM Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest Funeral Home.  Visitation with the family will be from 5-6:00 PM on Tuesday.
