John Hunter Badger, 80

John Hunter Badger, age 80, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024 in Green Cove Springs, Florida.  He was born on February 21, 1944 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and lived a life of devotion to his family, faith and his friends.

John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sylvia Alford Badger, his son, John Hunter Badger, Jr. (Heather) of Fleming Island, FL, his daughter, Martha Badger Short (Spike) of Green Cove Springs, FL, and his cherished grandchildren, Caden Badger, Kole Badger, Syra Short, and Seton Short.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Hunter and Ollie Badger, and his brother, James “Jim” Badger.

He was a retired welder, an outdoorsman and loved working in his shop, where he could often be found tinkering on various projects.   He was a past member at Airline Baptist Church in Mayo, FL and current member of Hibernia Baptist Church in Fleming Island, FL.

Services to honor John’s life will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Hibernia Baptist Church in Fleming Island, FL.  A time of visitation will begin at 9:30 AM on Thursday prior to services.  Graveside Services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Airline Baptist Church in Mayo, FL.

John will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
