John G. Nicholas, 79

John G. Nicholas, 79, of Middleburg, FL passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021.  He was born in Oakland, PA to the late John Nicholas and Rose Pollice Nicholas.  He worked at Mick’s Auto Parts in Pittsburgh before moving to Clay County in 2000 to be closer to his son, Damion.  John was an avid Steelers fan.  He volunteered in the kitchen at First Baptist Middleburg as well as St. Vincent’s Clay driving the cart.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rose Nicholas; and one sister, Phyllis.  He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Peggy Nicholas; one son, Damion Nickel (Colleen); one sister, Mary Direnna; two grandsons, Dawson Nickel and Cody Nickel; niece, René Direnna (Dean); nephew, Greg Burns (Cheryl); as well as many other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 11:00am at First Baptist Church Middleburg.
