Jody Lynn Braden Curry, 55

Jody Lynn Braden Curry of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on August 15, 2022 at the age of 55.

Jody was born on September 28, 1966 in Meridian Mississippi to Tom and Sherri Branden. Along with her younger brother Thomas (Charlie), the family lived between Virginia Beach and Jacksonville as Tom’s Naval assignments changed. Jody quickly developed the ability to adapt and meet new friends.

Facing the challenges of being young and starting a family, Jody was determined to further her education. Wanting to help others, she chose to become a teacher. Not only did she make a difference in her students’ learning, she became a role model, mentor, 2nd mom and life-long friend to so many.

From teaching to everyday mom, from birthday parties to being a T-ball coach, Jody ensured her family was provided for without missing a step.  No matter what challenge Jody faced, she met it with a plan to succeed, but with all of the love, care and consideration of others.  Her ways set an example for others wanting to follow.

To know Jody, one would love her silliness, her quirkiness, and her sometimes unordinary ways. The thought brings a smile to one’s face.  She loved Dr. Suess style rhymes, silly songs and cheers, and helping others.  Jody had a deep faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to plant His seed in as many hearts as she could.

Jody is survived by her husband Marc, son Marcus, son Mason, son Marshall, his wife Megan, expected grandchild Hadley, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and all of the many lives she touched throughout her 35 years in Clay County.

Although Jody’s parents and brother have passed, she is also survived by her brother’s daughter, along with numerous cousins, aunts, uncles in the Northeast, as well as the dear friends for life she made.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life gathering for Jody on Friday, August 19th in the Green Cove Springs area. Please reach out to the family for details.
