Jerry Oliver Rhodes, 59, passed away November 9, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Laura Rhodes; loving family Chris and Ronnie Oliver, Erica and Mike Thomas, Chris and Rosy Turner; Holly, Callie, Ashlyn, Sarah, Laurelei, Malena, Courtney, Easton, Layla, Kayla; his mother, Mrs. Iris Cox, of Goldsboro, NC; and his brother, Vance Rhodes, as well as a large extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Gerald Joseph Rhodes, brother, Joseph Lynn Rhodes, and son, Jacob Hobbs.

Jerry was very proud of his 26 years of military service. He served 11 years active duty in the U.S. Navy, and retired as a Master Sergeant in the Florida Air National Guard after an additional 15 years.  He was an electronics technician at AT&T at the time of his death.

At Jerry’s request, a private graveside service with full military honors will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
