Jerry Don Luttrull, 80

Jerry Don Luttrull, 80, of Orange Park, FL passed away Monday, August 16, 2021.  Jerry was born in Dallas, TX to the late Cecil Levi Luttrull and Doris Beulah Jones.  He moved to the area in 1988 from Burleson, TX when his career in the grocery business transferred him to Florida with Winn-Dixie.  Jerry got his start with Big State Mercantile in New Mexico, continued on when they were purchased by Kimball Stores which brought his family to Texas.  His career spanned 49 years and all aspects of the general merchandising industry; from merchandiser, delivery, warehouse manager, to buyer. 

Jerry loved fishing, playing horseshoes, and watching his favorite NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys.  He was active at Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene and was chairman of the board of the Christian Academy for several years.  Jerry also volunteered his time as a greeter at Westside Baptist Church.  After retiring in 2009, Jerry spent much of his time volunteering with Gleaners Dispatch and Westside Family Bookstore.  He prided himself on being a handyman and helping people who needed his services.  He was always serving others. 

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Luttrull and Doris Sanders; three brothers, Cecil, Billy, and Roger; two sisters, Doris and Judy; and son-in-law, Jon Sizemore.   He is survived by his wife of over 42 years, Beth Luttrull; two brothers, Lloyd and Dennis Luttrull; two sons, Jerry Dee Luttrull of Mareno Valley, CA and Jason Scott Luttrull (Megan) of Milledgeville, GA; one daughter, Suzanna Sizemore Carroll (Jeff) of Orange Park, FL; and 5 grandchildren, Kelley Luttrull, Alaynah Luttrull, Carlie Luttrull, Jonathan Sizemore and Jared Sizemore. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 2:00PM at Westside Baptist Church with Reverend Keith Russell officiating.  The service can be streamed live at https://wbcjax.com/media/live-stream/.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Jerry’s honor to Gleaners Dispatch, https://gleanersdispatch.org/way-to-help/ or Seamark Ranch, https://www.seamarkranch.com/donate
