James T. “Jimmy” Minton, 85

James T. “Jimmy” Minton, 85 of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022.  Mr. Minton was born in Bertie County, NC to the late Ogle James and Emma Belle Minton.  He grew up in Ahoskie, NC on the family farm and joined the US Navy and was stationed at NAS when he met his wife of 61 years, the late Marie Minton.  After various jobs including working as a milkman and pest control companies, Jimmy retired from the Nassau County School Board after 25 years.  He enjoyed golf and spending time camping in the mountains with his family.

Mr. Minton is survived by his two sons, Michael (Tami) Minton and Tommy (Mammie) Minton, grandchildren, Michaela and Chris and two great grandchildren, Hailey and Aubree.

Private services will be held at a later date.
