Hugh Otto Olsen, 87

Hugh Otto Olsen, 87 of Middleburg, FL passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017. Mr. Olsen was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Orange Park in 1977 from Freeport, NY.  He was a veteran of the US Army and US Navy and retired from the Police Department in Brooklyn, NY.  After moving to Florida, he worked in security at the Prudential Insurance Building in Jacksonville for 10 years.  Mr. Olsen was avid about health as a jogger, marathon runner and working in his yard.

Mr. Olsen was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Olsen and is survived by his children, Robert Olsen, Allison Cooke, Fred Olsen and Roger (Gail) Olsen and five grandchildren, Ryan, Lauren, Brandon, Adam and Sara.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday 29, 2017 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest with Pastor Mike McDonald officiating. Burial will be 2:30 pm Wednesday in Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation with the family will begin 11:00 am until services begin on Wednesday.
