Geraldine Marie Shobert, 88

Geraldine Marie Shobert, 88, of Middleburg, FL passed away August 16, 2020, surrounded by her family.  Geraldine was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Russell and Marion Belknap.  She moved to Florida from Ohio in 1962 and lived in many cities before settling in Middleburg 8 years ago.  Geraldine loved taking care of the patients in recovery in her career at the hospital.  She enjoyed her food, mainly Hershey bars, fried shrimp and hamburgers; but most of all her son-in-law’s Italian cooking.  Geraldine was very determined and a spitfire.  She enjoyed coloring as her earthly body wore out on her.  She was a great mom to her children and her grandchildren were also very important to her.  She was fun-loving, joyful and had an outgoing spirit.  She will be greatly missed.

Ms. Shobert was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Raymond Tanguay; and many siblings.  She is survived by her four daughters, Diane Sclafani (Frank), Joyce Tanguay, Shirley Shobert, Kim Thompson (Kevin); one son, Thomas Shobert, Jr. (Donna); two sisters, Joanne Belknap and Jeannie Oldag; eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, August 21, 2020 in the chapel at Russell Haven of Rest.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at 1:00pm.
