George Dale Habiger, 75

George Dale Habiger, 75 of Middleburg, FL passed away Monday, July 8, 2024. George was born in Palm Springs, California to parents Betty (Elizabeth Burnaugh) and George Habiger. He spent most of his life between California and Florida, until moving to Florida permanently in 2007. He met his wife Lori in Florida 35 years ago, and they enjoyed 13 wonderful years of marriage together. George was a veteran of the United States Air Force, he served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1972. He also served as a Merchant Marine engineer with the Seafarers International Union.

George enjoyed playing guitar and tending to his cows and gardens as a hobby farmer. He was most passionate about his family, especially his grandchildren. His faith was equally important to him and he was a devoted parishioner at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Middleburg, FL. George will be dearly missed by those that he loved the most.

George was preceded in death by his parents Betty and George Habiger and brother, David Habiger. He is survived by his wife, Lori Balanow-Habiger; daughters, Mary Anne Habiger Jones, Robbin Habiger, Emily Balanow Hampton (Justin), and Katie Balanow Tomlinson (Brandon); sons, Dallas Balanow and George Balanow (Tala); brother, Dennis Habiger (Cookie); sisters, Janis Gold, Marie Routh, Anita Driscoll (John), and Becky Habiger Chin; and grandchildren, Noa Mercado, Natalie Dick, Lilia Mercado, Kanaan Pyke, Rosemary Balanow, Amelea Tomlinson, Penny Hampton, Nora Balanow and Max Tomlinson.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later time.
