Garrett Thomas Blanchette, 14 of Green Cove Springs passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022. Garrett was born in Orange Park, FL and lived most of his life in Florida. He was a student at St. John’s Classical Academy where he played basketball. He also played football for the Fleming Island Dreadnaughts, where he was known as “Tex”. Family was everything to Garrett. He was the best big brother and perfect son. He was obsessed with being on the water, whether it was fishing, boating or just hanging out on the creek. He never missed an opportunity to fish and always had a rod ready to go. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, truly larger than life, and anyone who knew Garrett was an immediate friend. He never met a stranger and had a heart of gold. He always wanted to help people and always had a smile on his face. He touched the lives of countless people and will be missed beyond measure by his family and friends.

Garrett was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Spell, and is survived by his parents, Scott Blanchette and Emily Spell, grandparents, Chris and Sandy Spell, Mike and Kimberly Keeble, and Geoff Blanchette, great grandmother, Carolyn Moneyhan, aunt Courtney Blanchette, brother, Granger Blanchette (3), sister Aubrey Blanchette (9), his dog Gypsy, and many extended family members.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Lake Asbury Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 P.M. prior to services on Saturday.
