Frederick Herman “Fred” Young, 85

Frederick Herman “Fred” Young, 85 of Orange Park, FL passed away December 27, 2015. Mr. Young was a native of Postell, NC and had been living in Clay County for the past 42 years. Fred and his wife, Helen, moved to Jacksonville in 1968 prior to living in Tampa and Miami. He was a master electrician and owner of Young’s Technical Service for 35 years and served in the US Air Force in 1951. He was an avid golfer and was an excellent Dobro musician. Mr. Young was a member of North Florida Bluegrass Association, Masonic Lodge #267 and the Moose Lodge #2020 both of Orange Park.

Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen Young, children, Donald Martin Young, Linda Kay Phillips, Gregory Michael (Anna) Young, and Rebecca Jane (Mitch) Bulmer, five sisters, Wilma Smith, Mary Brown, Bea Geisler, Thelma Firshing and Polly Davis, seven grandchildren, Rhonda, Jeff, Jennifer, Melinda, Amber, Chelsea, and Cassie, and eight great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held 5:00 PM Friday, January 1, 2016 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest with Rev. Ernestine Lockett officiating.
