Franklin “Frank” Starnes Manning, 78, of Orange Park, FL passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021. Frank was born in Clay Hill, FL to the late Ted Manning and Ida (Mosley) Manning. He spent his years working at the shipyards, in the logging industry, and as a security guard at Moosehaven. Frank enjoyed going on walks, hanging out at McDonalds, watching old western movies, and wearing his cowboy hat. He was a very social and friendly man who could talk to anyone. He was a man of faith who enjoyed church and loved the Lord. Frank loved his family so much. His wife, children, grandchildren and family were his whole world.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Ida Manning; four brothers, Junior Mosley, Edgar Manning, Clayton Manning, and Eugene Manning; and two sisters, Ruby Wilkinson and Ida Mae Padgett. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Geraldine Manning; one son, James Manning; one daughter, Sabrina Sawdo (Michael); one brother, Carlis Manning (Margaret); one sister, JoAnne Looney (Joe); sister-in-law, Janice Hutchinson (Lanny); brother-in-law, Dough Hatcher; and six grandchildren, James Manning II (Briana), Kalin Sawdo(Troy Murphy), Keath Sawdo , Kyla Sawdo, Matt Manning, and Julia Hall.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:00am in the chapel at Russell Haven of Rest with Pastor Jerry Thrower officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Peoria Cemetery, 142 Jefferson Ave., Orange Park, FL 32065.
