Whether it was her father calling her “Frannie Girl” or being known to others as Fran, Frances Pyfrom Warnick Daniels always offered a caring, cheerful or spiritual  word to all who encountered her. The world was made a better place on  June 3, 1949, when Thaddeus and Frances Blount Pyfrom welcomed Frances, lovingly named after her mother.  On September 20, 2022, this Wife, Mom, Grandmother and Great Grandmother went home to be with the Lord at her home in Middleburg, Florida.

Born into a Gullah and Bahamian family, Fran was the seventh of twelve children and developed a relationship with the Creator at an early age.   As a child, she was baptized by Father Elliot at St. Paul Episcopal Church in The Bronx, NY and religiously attended church services. Fran matriculated through the public school system of New York City with honors, attending PS 140, PS 120 and graduating from Roosevelt High School.  She earned her Associates Degree from New York City College in Manhattan, NY and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from St. Thomas University in Miami FL.

In 1971, Frances married Keith Warnick and together they raised two sons, Ronald and Lateef, in New York and Miami.  While primarily a homemaker, Frances was also deeply devoted to her community and worked as a teacher, social worker and administrator for hospice in New York, Florida and Maryland.  On September 5, 2008, Frances married her long-time love of over 20 years, Irving H. Daniels in Lithonia, GA.  The two were a staple couple, known by their fashion and dancing while attending the New York Transit Authority Annual Ball in Harlem.  During their partnership, they lived in Maryland, North Carolina and Georgia and in 2014, settled in Middleburg, FL where she was his dedicated caregiver until her passing.

If you knew Fran, you know that she loved singing.  As a teenager, she sang in the church choir and her voice was one that playfully allowed her to convince her sons’ friends that she sang backup for Natalie Cole!  She was an avid reader and when giving advice, she often quoted passages from her favorite book, A Course in Miracles.  Fran was adventurous, brave and never afraid to try new things, including obtaining her Commercial Driver’s License and roller skating with her grandkids, both while in her 60s.  She loved to travel and was in the process of writing her own biography entitled Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.   Second only to God, Fran loved her family.  If you ever stopped by her home, you would often find her on the phone with her siblings or oldest granddaughter, Kiara, sharing stories, lending a listening ear or laughing to tears.  She was the #1 fan of both of her sons, passing on her love of music to them.  Both recall that during their road trips between New York and Miami, she would play New Birth on repeat and forced them to love it.  As a result of her influence, both sons pursued music careers and she would bless their crowds by singing back up during their live performances.    Fran was a magical grandmother who spent countless hours with her grandchildren.  She would regularly babysit, call them to chat, attend their school events and sports games and due to her love of sweets, always had a cookie, slice of cake or piece of candy that she would share with them.  On January 21, 2021, Fran was honorably accepted into the Great-Grandma club with the birth of her first great grandchild, DJ.

Although heartbroken, all who loved Fran are grateful to know that she is at peace.  In addition to her parents, Frances Pyfrom Warnick Daniels was preceded in death by two of her seven sisters, Deloris and Alice, and two of her four brothers, Thaddeus Jr. and Rodney. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Irving; two loving sons: Ronald Warnick of New York and Lateef Warnick (Giara) of Florida; four sisters: Emma Ward (John) of New York, Marjorie Broom of Florida, Theodora Green of Delaware, Geneva Vanderpool of New York and Greta Pyfrom of Georgia; two brothers: Bernard Pyfrom (Sharon) and Harry Pyfrom (Blu), all of New York; five grandchildren: Kiara Warnick, Isaiah Warnick, Valentina Martinez, Soraya Warnick and Elijah Warnick; and one great grandchild: Dominic Fondon Jr.
