Dorothea A. Reed, 94

Dorothea Anderson Reed, 94, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away December 30, 2019.  Mrs. Reed was born to the late Axel Anderson and Catherine Shevlin Anderson in Hempstead, New York.  Dorothea was the last surviving sibling of 5, including her twin sister, Eleanor Langendorfer.  She lived in South Daytona, Florida for many years before moving to Clay County in 2005.  She was employed by Southern Bell for 38 years and held many roles, including outside plant clerk.  Mrs. Reed loved to travel, especially by motorhome.  Her hobbies included boating and crocheting.  Her cats and dogs meant the world to her.

Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years of wedded bliss, Harry Reed; her infant daughter, Susan Reed; one brother, Axel Anderson; and three sisters, Catherine Weckerle, Elizabeth Schlimper, and Eleanor Langendorfer.  She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (John) McNulty; four grandchildren, Shawn, Daniel, Corey and Michael; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emma and Abbie.

Memorial services will be held 10am Monday, January 6, 2020 in the chapel at Russell Haven of Rest with Father Alex Carandang officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to the Safe Animal Shelter, https://safeanimalshelter.com/donate-today/.
