David Alan Betts, 62

David Alan Betts, 62, of Green Cove Springs, Florida passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023. Dave was born in Benton Harbor Michigan on April 22, 1961 to the late Charlie and Frances Betts. Dave was a proud Navy veteran with 22 years of honorable service in the United States Navy. As a Senior Chief Aviation Electronics Technician/Naval Aircrewman on the P-3 Orion aircraft, he flew over 5,500 hours in support of various missions defending our great nation. In addition to being a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Dave was a diehard Jacksonville Jaguar fan. He loved gardening and “fixing things” around the house. He was an amazing “dog dad” to the many miniature schnauzers that we failed fostering and adopted as our own. Though he left this earthly life too soon, he lived his life to the fullest and his quick wit and off the wall one liner jokes brough joy and laughter to those around him.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Frances Betts, his brother Carey Betts. He is survived by his wife, Lesli of 31 years, son Nate, grandsons Nathan and Caleb Betts, sister Kristen (CJ) Marcera, sister-in-law Christy (Mark) Ottervanger, brothers-in-law Chuck (Dana) Moody & Greg (Rosa) Moody, Aunt Judy Ellsworth, and many cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held on December 14, 2023 at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Located at 7190 Highway 17, Fleming Island, FL.
