Darwin Dean Carlson, 81
Darwin Dean Carlson, 81, of Fleming Island, FL passed away Friday, July 5, 2024. Darwin was born in South Bend, IN to the late Joseph and Beatrice Carlson and moved to the area over 50 years ago. He proudly served his country for four years in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. Darwin later owned and operated Accuwrite Business Group for over 35 years with his wife, Mary Ann. They were partners in everything and were always together. He enjoyed his motorcycles and Corvettes.
Darwin and Mary Ann enjoyed many trips over the years, going as far as Alaska and Hawaii. He especially enjoyed a trip to Europe where he spent time in London. North Carolina was a second home where he hoped to retire one day.
Darwin was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Beatrice Carlson. He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Mary Ann; three sons, Rick Carlson (Lori Lopez), Brian Carlson (Susan Hendrix), and Ed Carlson; one daughter, Terri Miller (Tim); one sister, Carol Pierce (Jim); five grandchildren, Tara Yournett (Joe), Hannah Carlson, Josh Williams (Nicole), Logan Schultz (Eddie), and Jordan Contento (Louie); two great-grandchildren, Skyler Yournett and Mia Williams; one niece, Tammy Chalker; two nephews, Mark Pierce and Scott Pierce; and extended family and many dear friends.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
