Celine Theresa Lavan, (nee O’Connell), 82, loving and devoted wife of Michael, and mother to Daniel, Linda, (David), and Patricia, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Celine was born February 16th, 1940 in King John’s Castle in Limerick, Ireland, to Daniel and Ann O’Connell. She was one of fourteen children, seven boys and seven girls. She was influenced by her large family to become a loving, caring and generous woman, always giving her time to others, and she incorporated that into motherhood.

She came to the US in 1968 and met Michael, the love of her life, on a blind date. They married on December 28th, 1968. He has been her rock throughout their fifty-four years of marriage and she loved him dearly.

The couple was blessed with five beautiful grandchildren, Megan, Tyler, Shane, Melissa, and Riley. She was happiest when family was around.

Celine was a spiritual woman who was devoted to God, and enjoyed doing her puzzles, painting, shopping, a glass of Zinfandel, and taking care of every type of animal. She had a talent for lighting up any room, and could make friends wherever she went. Her off-color jokes would make you laugh until you cried.

She was tiny, but had a huge heart and remarkable spirit that left an impact on everyone that she met. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

We know that we can’t have you forever, but we’re happy knowing that the angels finally have you back. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and a beautiful soul. We will always love you.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 22, 2022 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest with burial to follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 AM until services begin.
