Carol Jean Smith, 59

Carol Jean Smith, 59 of Orange Park, FL passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019.  Carol was born in Madison, FL and moved to Orange Park 25 years ago from Waldo, FL.   She grew up in Gainesville and spent her years as a homemaker for her family, going to sports activities of her sons and now her grandchildren, as well as shopping at Walmart and Sam’s.  One of her greatest joys was being “Nama” to her four grandchildren, Brandy, Baxley, Waylon, and Brayden.  Carol will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her father, Martin Reaves and sister, Brenda Register and is survived by her husband of 41 years, David Smith, sons, Joshua (Elizabeth) Smith, Brandon (Jeanna) Smith and Derek Smith, mother, Aljean Reaves, brothers, Marty (Beverly) Reaves and Isaac (Cathy) Reaves, sisters, Suzanne (Doug) Summer and Becky (David) Slean, and four grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Russell Baptist Church, 2299 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043.  Burial will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.  Chaplain Reese Edwards will be officiating.
